One problem, one product, and a lot of measuring
We're Buckle & Bark, a small shop in Boston, Massachusetts. We make gear for dogs who ride in the back.
Anyone who drives with a dog knows the scramble. Muddy paws on the upholstery, a dog with nowhere level to settle, that gap in front of the bench their legs keep sliding into.
So rather than stock a hundred things, we picked the problem that bothered us most and built around it. A rigid-base platform that turns the back bench and the footwell into one flat surface, plus the few small things that keep the car clean afterwards.
Being small has one real advantage and we lean on it: we can tell you what we don't know. Where a figure comes from a manufacturer's drawing rather than our own tape measure, we say so. Where a supplier claims something we haven't confirmed, we leave it out. You can check everything on these pages, which isn't something we could promise if we were guessing.
What we promise you
- Shipping you can plan around. We ship from a US warehouse and most orders arrive in 3 to 8 business days. We tell you that next to the buy button, not after you've paid.

- 30 days to change your mind. Use it with your dog for a month. If it's not right, we refund the item price, and every unit carries a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
